LO3: Site Versions

Development of my home page:

This is how my homepage started out. I used a stock photo of Bradwell as a temporary image to start with. I also created the title by using a bold font and by having a thinner font underneath that would state the motto of the school. I have chosen the same house style for every single page so that my site remains consistent and flowing.

Next I added the school motto to the title and put the text for the home page underneath the image.

Next I went to the school and took photos for the website. This gives the site a more professional and personal look.

I then added some more pictures to the bottom of the page to give the users of the site a look into what the school is and what it looks like.

Here I am editing my final home page.

Finally I changed the head teachers' part of the page by adding a photo of the head teacher herself to show the users and the parents on the website what she looks like so they can recognise her on visits and when they go to the school.

I also changed the titles on the photos to that of the school.

Development of my about us page:

This is what my about us page looked like in the early development stages of production. I had added the title and school motto just like the home page and added the text required for the page.

Next I added a button so that the school prospectus would be available to download at the users convenience.

I then changed the stock images to images from the school which I took.

Here I am editing the final part of the about us page.

Development of my news page:

This what what my news page looked like at first, I put in the title and motto like before and put in the sub headings to give the page an identity.

I then added the news that was on the current Bradwell Junior School website.

Finally I changed the images to ones that I took at the school of the playground and surrounding area.

Development of my gallery page:

This is what my gallery page looked like to begin with. I placed the title and motto to make it fit like every other page and added the subheadings to reinforce to the users that this is the gallery page.

To finish this page I added some photos from the original gallery page on the current website and added a small paragraph underneath to introduce the images.

 Development of my information page:

To start with I was unsure on how I would present my information page.

But then I decided to make it like the bottom of my about us page, by using buttons. I started with these pink buttons but the writing was too small and the colour was too bright.

So I changed the layout of the buttons by changing the colour to a more neutral one, making the font bigger and putting a drop shadow on them so it looks like they are pushing off the page. This also makes them stand out more against the white background.

I finished off this page by adding more buttons (both information and letters) and linking them so that the relevant documents can be downloaded at request.

Development of my contact us page:

This is what the page looked like to begin with. I rearranged the different parts like the image, address and contact form to fit the shape of the page.

I then changed the image to a picture of the school, at a high angle so that the users can get a good view of the school.

My website I have created is suitable for the target audience as it is very easy to navigate around, it has information suited for the parents of the children or visitors who are wanting to know more about the school, the downloads would be very helpful for both the parents and visitors and the images help give an idea of what the children get up to at the school, giving any parents who are thinking of sending their children to the school an idea of what the current pupil get up to.

I could use rich media on my website with ads that change every time a user passes their mouse over it. The ads could involve things such as school uniform, events near to the school or stationary.
